## The straight-razor shave
Home razors and clippers can't compete with a classic blade for cleanliness. We use a traditional straight razor — the same tool men have used for centuries. In the hands of an experienced barber, a perfectly sharp blade takes stubble down to smooth skin without the risk of cuts.
The Royal Shave — the term traces back to William Truefitt, who opened his first London barber shop in 1805 and founded the Truefitt & Hill brand. His establishment earned a high reputation among English aristocrats and royal-court privileges, laying the foundations for this prestigious service.

## Shaving, step by step

### Pre-shave oil
A pre-shave oil softens the hair for a comfortable, safe shave and helps prevent ingrown hairs, leaving a thin film that lets the blade glide.

### Hot-towel steam
Heated towels open the pores and soften the stubble. Increased blood flow lifts the hairs for a cleaner, safer shave with far less irritation.

### Lathering
Freshly whipped lather from natural soap, applied warm with a bowl and a soft natural-bristle brush for the perfect thick consistency.

### Straight-razor pass
